“From the early days of Hispanic settlement in southern Colorado to the influx during the stormy days of the Mexican Revolution in the 1920s, to today’s increasingly complex mix of people from all over Latin America and the Caribbean who call the Pikes Peak region their home, there is a multifaceted and rich culture here that needs to be recorded,” ¿De dónde eres? Advisory Committee Co-Chair Dr. José Barrera said. “The ¿De dónde eres? initiative exists to develop and collect oral, written, and visual resources that document the lives, customs, and histories of the southern Colorado Hispanic/Latino Community.”
